Miyazato up in rankings after Evian win

Ai Miyazato moves up four spots in the world women's golf rankings to No. 6 following her victory at the LPGA's Evian Masters.

Miyazato, a one-time world No. 1, was 10th in the rankings before the Evian. Sunday's win was her seventh LPGA title. Her first came in 2009 at the Evian Masters. She won five championships in 2010.

The Top 10 women fared well at the Evian, with eight of them finishing tied for 21st or better. The exceptions were Ahn Sun-ju, who missed the cut and drops from sixth to eighth in the rankings, and Karrie Webb, who tied for 56th and slips one place to ninth.

Yani Tseng marks her 24th week at No. 1. She has a rankings point average of 14.38, well ahead of the 11.73 of No. 2-ranked Cristie Kerr (11.73) and Suzann Pettersen (10.98).

There's another drop-off to No. 4 Shin Jiyai (9.51) but the rankings tightened up after that with Choi Na-yeon (8.23) in fifth, Miyazato coming in at 8.01 and No. 7 Kim In-kyung at 7.93. Ahn's average is 7.55 while Paula Creamer, down one spot to eighth, is at 7.37 and Webb is 6.85.

Stacey Lewis, who was second to Miyazato at the Evian Masters, is up four places to 11th this week. Her average is 6.42.
