Missing baby found in Washington

A infant who went missing in Baltimore was found safe and the 16-year-old girl who was watching him was held for questioning, police said.

Police said Ki'Yaughn Birch, 7 months, was found with Jonae Boozer, in northeast Washington Monday.

The baby disappeared Friday, but police said it is not clear why the two went missing or how the ended up in the District of Columbia, The Washington Post reported.

Boozer was taken into custody for questioning and the baby was taken for evaluation.

Officials said the baby was left in Boozer's care at the boy's father's house in Baltimore Friday. When the father went out for cigarettes, the two vanished.

The father, Charles Birch, told The Baltimore Sun Boozer was a friend of a friend who stopped by his home while he was caring for his son. Boozer reportedly asked Birch for a cigarette, so he went out to get some, leaving the baby with Boozer.

"I went to get cigarettes, and my son's gone," Birch said
