Jessica Simpson is Pregnant With Her First Child

Jessica Simpson is known for lots of things, from a successful pop career to resurrecting "Daisy Dukes" in the popular movie adaptation of "Dukes of Hazzard" and from being married to Nick Lachey to dating Tony Romo. Lately, however, Simpson has been out of the news a bit more than usual as she’s enjoying her time with new beau Eric Johnson, a former NFL football player. Now, however, Simpson is blowing the lid off the media slowdown surrounding her and has announced that she is pregnant.

Yesterday, on Halloween, Simpson gleefully tweeted, "It’s true – I’m going to be a mummy." Always quick with a pun, Simpson turned out to be announcing both that she is pregnant and will be a mother for the first time AND that she was dressing as a mummy for Halloween. In a photo of Simpson, she is dressed in mummy garb while holding onto her baby bump.

The 31-year-old has been the subject of rumors for a while now regarding the possibility that she was pregnant, and Simpson has said in the past that she would like to have her fiancé’s children. Noted Simpson, "I definitely see myself having a family with him, so that’s exciting to think about." Simpson and Johnson became engaged last November after Johnson proposed. Simpson will join her younger sister, Ashlee, as a mom. Ashlee had her daughter, Bronx, in 2008 with no ex-husband Pete Wentz. Jessica’s new baby will be the second grandchild for her parents, Joe and Tina.
